He can't risk getting caught doing something so suspicious and if Gin is watching and listening in then it's probable that he saw Conan write something on a notepad and show it to Holmes. If he saw Conan acting so secretive he'd probably be able to guess what the note was about and that... that wouldn't end well for anyone. ]
[ There's only one thing he can do. Using the same page he just wrote 'Gin' on, he scribbles another little note: ]
